The Road to Work Program helps youth gain the skills, certifications, and experience needed to start a career in construction, road work, and traffic safety, all while earning during training. Through partnerships with industry employers, this program creates a direct path from training to employment.

What to Expect

· 7 weeks of hands-on training

· Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

· $15/hour living allowance

· Industry-recognized safety certifications

· Practical, job-ready skills

Internship Requirements

· 18-29 years of age

· A Canadian citizen or permanent resident eligible to work in Canada.

· Desire to start a career in the construction, road work, or traffic safety industries





· Ability to attend 7 consecutive weeks of training, Monday to Friday (8:30am-4:00pm)

· Ability to complete on-line trainings and in-class sessions

· A valid (non-graduated) Class 5 driver’s license and clean driving abstract is an asset

· Reliable transportation to and from work

What Happens Next

After training, participants are supported in applying for jobs with YOUCAN’s industry partners. Each participant is also connected with an Employment Coach for ongoing support as they step into the workforce.
