Safety and Quality Manager The Safety and Quality Manager is responsible to ensure all staff and/or related sites are compliant with the Boccard Management system (BMS) including the BPMS (Boccard Project Management System). They must ensure to report actions to direct supervisor and track costs of non-quality for the entire Business Unit.
Main Objectives
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and Best Practices for operations departments
- Track project KPI’s from project start to project end.
- Responsible of continuous improvement program across the company
- Work closely with Boccard Excellence Center to share best practices expertise/know-how
- Ensure company’s procedures are compliant with both the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001 standards
Position Functions
- Work closely with department Leads, edit and update department procedures according to the Boccard Corporate standards and according to ISO 900:2015 standards
- Ensure adhesion, understanding, and the compliance of Boccard Management System (BMS) procedures by the entire staff / across the various company sites
- Responsible for newcomers BMS onboarding training.
- Track company deviations/ misalignments / dysfunctionalities from established procedures.
- Manage company continuous improvement program.
- Manage the Non-Conformity Program (including the NCR LOG) with the coordination of department leads. Track NCR deviations from start to end and manage the company internal root cause analysis tracker.
- Responsible of NCR KPIs reviews and reporting. Track NCR PARETO tracker and costs of non-conformance.
- Manage company Action Plan Tracker for minor and major deviations. Measure the effectiveness of action plans and follow reporting process according to ISO standards.
- Responsible for KPI’s internal management reviews and KPI’s corporate reporting.
- Responsible for Document Control.
Ensure all company internal documents are quality controlled and aligned with corporate document control codification and reporting process.
- Manage the company Document Control Log (LDA) and ensure full compliance with Boccard and ISO standards.
- Organize and participate in each project Lessons Learned meeting, responsible for project Lessons Learned reports and minutes.
- Manage project closure documentation for each project as per internal best Practices and track project acceptance documentation. Manage actions resulting from Lessons Learned meetings until full completion.
- Support the project team in tracking project ratios from the project offer until the project debriefing.
- Manage Customer satisfaction program and generate Customers survey analysis and ensure an action plan is put in place as part of continuous improvement program
- Responsible for the company Quality Management Manual. Ensure the manual is kept up to date and communicate changes as per the ISO Change Management Standards.
- Ensure manual is compliant with the BMS procedures and the ISO standards.
- Manage all internal and external audits. Manage the organization of any audit, track audits records. Work closely with auditors and with Boccard Excellence Center (Corporate).
- Manage safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT).
- Manage and track company compliance with ISO4500 standards and requirements and ensure all safety coordinators comply with the company safety standards
- Manage the safety Risk Assessment Register as per the ISO 45001standards.
Responsible for all the safety inspections, reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive policies.
- Ensure compliance with daily safety best practices. Regularly conduct safety inspections of facilities, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations and identify potential hazards.
- Conduct post-accident investigation, prepare report identifying accident causes and hazards.
- Responsible of safety training programs. Manage first aid, CPR, and prevention of workplace accidents.
- Responsible for the Safety continuous improvement program.
- Develop and recommend new procedures and approaches to safety and prevention based on reports of incidents and near-misses.
- Responsible for safety orientation (onboarding/refreshers).
- Manage the Safety Committee as per ISO 45001 Standards.
- Lead safety talks, training and other safety activities in workshops, sites and various BLS offices.
- Ensure all company policies as stated in the employee handbook, employee health, safety manual, comply with Federal / State Law and other legislation across the organization.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Administration, and/or a Degree in Quality Systems & Management; OSHA and ASP Certified, a must.
Experience
At least five (5) years of proven experience in Safety Management and Quality Assurance.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication and training skills to effectively train employees in safety / quality procedures.
- Bilingual, English and French
- Competency in MS suite and other data entry software / Power BI
- Experience with an ERP, an asset
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
This position requires proficiency in both French and English, as the nature of the duties involves regular communication with colleagues, clients, and other players across Canada and the United States. The requirement for English is essential to perform these responsibilities effectively.
