JOB PURPOSE The Plumber/Medical Gas Technician is responsible for performing plumbing work at the journeyman level and installing and maintaining medical gas systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Must hold a Provincial Certificate of Qualification issued under the Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification Act as a plumber or welder.
- Must hold a medical gas system verifier or a medical gas system installer license issued under the Boiler Pressure Vessel Act.
- Must have or be willing to acquire Backflow Prevention Certification.
- Must have two years of experience.
- Must have a valid drivers license.
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Plumber/Medical Gas Technician is responsible for:

- Installing, modifying, troubleshooting and maintaining medical gas systems and system components
- Taking medical gas readings and testing medical gas system components
- Rebuilding gas outlets
- Sourcing and requisitioning recent equipment and parts for repair and maintaining inventory
- Installing, modifying,



repairing and maintaining plumbing systems
- Installing, modifying, repairing and maintaining the plumbing components of a heating, ventilation and air control system
- Installing, maintaining and testing back flow preventative equipment
