We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Sandblaster to prepare metal parts and surfaces for coating and painting. The successful candidate will operate blasting equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining quality standards and production requirements.
Responsibilities
- Operate sandblasting and abrasive blasting equipment.
- Prepare metal parts and surfaces by removing rust, paint, scale, and other contaminants.
- Load, unload, and position parts for blasting.
- Inspect parts before and after blasting to ensure proper surface preparation.
- Follow job specifications and work instructions.
- Maintain blasting equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Handle blasting media and other materials safely.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Wear required PPE, including respirator, blasting helmet, gloves, and protective clothing.
- Assist with masking, material handling, painting, or other shop duties when required.
- Report equipment issues or quality concerns to the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Previous sandblasting experience is an asset.
- Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working with respirators and other PPE.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn other coating and shop processes.
Work Environment This position involves working in an industrial shop setting with dust, noise, blasting media, and heavy equipment. Appropriate PPE and safety procedures must be followed at all times.
