TSEMKO DECOR INC. is seeking an experienced Sculptor for a permanent, full-time position at our workshop in North York, Ontario.
The Sculptor will create original sculptures and three-dimensional artwork based on project requirements and client concepts. The position involves both artistic and hands-on work, from developing initial sketches and drawings through sculpting and finishing the final artwork.
Responsibilities:
- Create original sculptures, statues and other three-dimensional artwork by shaping, carving and modelling.
- Develop sketches and drawings to present artistic concepts and proposed designs to clients.
- Produce computerized images and drawings when required for project development.
- Create figurative sculptures according to approved concepts and project specifications.
- Work with sculpting materials including clay, stone, wood and EPS foam.
- Interpret client requirements and transform concepts and sketches into three-dimensional artwork.
- Refine,
shape and finish sculptural elements with close attention to proportions, form and detail.
- Collaborate with other members of the production team during the development and completion of projects.
Requirements:
- College/CEGEP education in fine/studio arts, general, or a related field.
- 3 to less than 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience creating sculptures and three-dimensional artwork.
- Strong drawing and sketching skills.
- Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- English language required.
Employment details:
- Permanent, full time position.
- 40 hours per week.
- Salary: $80,000 per year.
- Work location: 415 Oakdale Rd, Units 391–393, North York, ON M3N 1W7
- Work must be performed on site.
