Canlan Ice

Sports is currently looking for an Ice Maintenance Person (ticketed) The Ice Maintenance Person is a pro-active and hands-on individual who performs general maintenance to ensure facility upkeep and regular flooding of ice rinks is completed in a timely and safe manner. Their primary responsibilities include ice resurfacing and edging (operating the Ice Resurfacer), janitorial work and general maintenance of facility.



Perform maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes Responsible for Ice Maintenance tasks including Ice Painting Arena Glass replacement Hockey net refurbishment Execute maintenance and repair of facility fixtures and components Janitorial duties as assigned.

These may include janitorial checklists, vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing and buffing in line with established floor care procedures Seasonal snow and debris removal Perform minor maintenance on facility and ice maintenance equipment including: Valid Ice Facility Operators (IFO) Certificate or higher Previous experience, training and operation of ice resurfacing equipment Willingness and ability to work flexible schedule (evenings and weekends) Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude (preferred) Trade or Janitorial experience is an advantage Employment decisions are based on merit and business needs, and not on race, color, creed, age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, marital status, medical condition, physical or mental disability, military service, pregnancy, childbirth and related medical conditions or any other classification protected by federal, provincial, and local laws and ordinances.
