Role: SecDesign Consultant

Title: AVP/VP

Location: Montreal, QC (Day 1 Onsite/Hybrid) – Fulltime

Mode of Work: 3 days/week onsite required

Required Experience: 5+ years

Technical Expertise

· Strong expertise in security architecture, threat modeling, and risk assessment

· Deep knowledge of infrastructure security, network security, and cloud security (Azure/AWS)

· Application security architecture fundamentals and secure design patterns

· Identity and access management (IAM) security architecture

· Endpoint security and security operations (SOC) understanding

· Familiarity with OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25, and secure coding practices

Industry Knowledge

· Banking/financial services security requirements and technology landscape

· Regulatory frameworks: SOC 2, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS Controls

· banking systems and corporate services technology stacks (preferred)

· Enterprise security tools and technologies: SIEM, firewalls, endpoint security, cloud security platforms

Professional Skills

· Problem-solving: Identify security gaps, propose pragmatic solutions, navigate competing priorities

· Communication: Clear written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical concepts to executives and developers

· Collaboration: Team player who can work effectively with distributed teams across North America and India

· Ownership: Can own deliverables end-to-end and drive closure without excessive guidance

· Reliability: Consistent professional engagement and on-time delivery of milestones

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Mandatory

· 5–8 years of hands-on experience in cyber security, security architecture, or related field

· Proven track record conducting security reviews and risk assessments for complex applications and infrastructure

· Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced enterprise environments

· Working knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (SOC 2, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, GDPR)

· Canadian work authorization or valid work visa

Strongly Preferred

· Experience in financial services or banking sector

· Hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud security

· Familiarity with enterprise SIEM and endpoint detection & response (EDR) tools

· Experience with zero trust architecture implementation and validation

· Threat modeling certifications or demonstrated expertise (STRIDE, PASTA, TAM)

· Professional certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, or AWS Security Specialty
