EDE Asset Management is a Toronto-based investment management firm that has been operating for approximately ten years.
EDE is registered with the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC), and Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) in the categories of Portfolio Manager (PM), Investment Fund Manager (IFM), and Exempt Market Dealer (EMD), as applicable.
Over the past decade, EDE has built a stable operating platform, long-standing client relationships, and significant investment experience, with particular expertise in the natural resources and mining sectors.
After approximately ten years of development, the firm is now entering its next stage of growth. We are expanding our operating capabilities, strengthening our client-development efforts, and building a more scalable platform to support future AUM growth.
As part of this expansion, we are looking for an experienced, reliable, highly organized and commercially minded qualified to join our team as:
Senior Associate, Operations & Client Development
This is an intermediate-level position combining:
- Financial and business operations
- Client service
- Private-placement execution
- Accounting and financial coordination
- CRM and information management
- Client-development support
- Process and systems improvement
We are looking for someone who already has meaningful professional experience and can work independently, but who is also interested in growing into a broader role as EDE expands. Key Responsibilities1. Business Operations & Financial Coordination The successful candidate will gradually take responsibility for a broad range of day-to-day operational activities, including:
- Coordinate client onboarding and account-opening processes
- Support subscriptions, redemptions and other client transactions
- Coordinate with fund administrators, custodians, brokers, auditors, accountants and other external professional service providers
- Assist with accounting-related information, reconciliations and financial documentation
- Coordinate information required for bookkeeping, audit, tax and regulatory processes
- Maintain operational calendars, checklists and transaction records
- Assist with quarterly and annual recurring operating processes
- Maintain organized internal financial and operational records
- Track outstanding items and ensure that deadlines are met
- Support management with internal financial and operational reporting
A good understanding of accounting principles and financial statements will be important for this role.
1. Private Placement / EMD Execution
EDE is active in private-market transactions through its EMD platform. The Senior Associate will support the operational execution of private placements after a transaction has been approved by senior management.
Responsibilities may include
- Prepare and distribute approved investor communications
- Track investor interest
- Coordinate subscription packages
- Work with external documentation and professional service providers
- Follow up on outstanding documentation and signatures
- Track subscription and funding status
- Coordinate payment and closing follow-up
- Maintain closing checklists
- Organize signed subscription agreements and transaction records
- Maintain private-placement databases and internal tracking
- Assist with routine communications with issuers and other transaction parties
1. Client Service
The Senior Associate will help ensure that EDE clients receive professional and responsive service.
Responsibilities include
- Coordinate client meetings and follow-up
- Prepare materials and background information for client meetings
- Assist with client documentation and account-service requests
- Track outstanding client matters
- Maintain accurate client records
- Support routine client communications
- Coordinate follow-up after client meetings
- Work closely with senior management to provide a high standard of client service
1. CRM & Information Management
The successful candidate will help EDE build a more systematic client and business-development infrastructure.
Responsibilities include
- Maintain and improve the firm's CRM system
- Update client and prospect records
- Maintain referral and relationship information
- Track client and prospect follow-up
- Maintain private-placement participation records
- Assist with KYC-related administrative tracking
- Produce CRM reports and internal summaries
- Improve the organization and quality of client and prospect data
Because this position may involve confidential client and financial information, the successful candidate must demonstrate a high level of discretion, judgment and professionalism. Access to sensitive information will be provided progressively based on business need, experience and demonstrated trust.
1. Client Development & Growth
This is not intended to be a purely administrative or back-office role. As EDE expands, the Senior Associate will also support the firm's client-development efforts.
Responsibilities may include
- Research prospective clients and referral opportunities
- Help build and maintain a prospect database
- Research family offices, business owners, entrepreneurs, mining-industry contacts and professional referral sources
- Assist with prospect and client meeting preparation
- Track introductions, referrals and follow-up activities
- Support client and industry events
- Conduct prospect background research
- Maintain business-development pipelines and follow-up schedules
- Help identify opportunities to develop existing relationships into broader asset-management relationships
- Gradually participate in appropriate prospect outreach and client-development activities
The role is designed to provide increasing exposure to client development as the individual gains experience within EDE.
1. Process & Systems Improvement
We are looking for someone who does more than simply complete recurring tasks. The successful candidate will also be expected to help improve how EDE operates by:
- Developing and improving SOPs
- Improving templates and checklists
- Streamlining recurring workflows
- Improving CRM and information-management practices
- Identifying opportunities for automation
- Reducing unnecessary manual work
- Improving accuracy and turnaround time
- Helping build an operating platform capable of supporting future AUM and business growth
Qualifications
Candidates should have
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Strong financial and numerical literacy
- Good understanding of accounting concepts and financial statements
- Strong organizational and execution skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong Excel skills
- Positive general technology skills
- Experience working with CRM systems, databases or workflow tools is preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High degree of professionalism and discretion
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to follow matters through from beginning to completion
- Comfort working with clients and external professional service providers
- Genuine interest in investing, capital markets and financial services
Preferred Background A financial and/or accounting background is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: C$55,000–C$65,000, depending on experience and qualifications

Work Arrangement This is a hybrid position based in Downtown Toronto.
The successful candidate will be expected to work from EDE's downtown Toronto office at least three days per week.
