Senior Business Analyst

Location: Canada (Remote)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support complex business and technology initiatives. The role focuses on business analysis, stakeholder engagement, requirements management, governance, process improvement, and business transformation. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure solutions align with organizational objectives and deliver measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

- Lead business analysis activities for complex business and technology initiatives involving multiple stakeholder groups.
- Elicit, analyze, document, validate, prioritize, and manage:
- Business requirements
- Functional requirements
- Non-functional requirements
- Process requirements
- Data requirements
- Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions through interviews, workshops, focus groups, and stakeholder consultations.
- Establish and maintain end-to-end requirements traceability from business objectives through implementation and operational transition.
- Develop and maintain:
- Use cases
- Business rules
- Process models
- Data models
- Workflow diagrams




- Requirements specifications
- Utilize requirements management and traceability tools to support project delivery.
- Ensure requirements align with business objectives, strategic priorities, solution design decisions, and expected outcomes.

Business Process Analysis & Strategic Advisory

- Analyze complex business challenges, opportunities, risks, and strategic objectives.
- Conduct current-state and future-state assessments.
- Identify opportunities for business process optimization and service modernization.
- Apply business process re-engineering approaches to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Support transformation, modernization, migration, and enterprise-wide change initiatives.
- Evaluate solution alternatives and develop evidence-based recommendations.
- Translate business, process, and data requirements into solution-ready specifications.
- Monitor and apply industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices where appropriate.

Governance, Risk Management & Quality Assurance

- Develop and maintain business analysis standards, frameworks, processes, governance artifacts, and quality controls.
- Create and support documentation such as:
- Business cases
- Cost-benefit analyses
- Feasibility studies
- Options analyses
- Decision papers
- Risk assessments
- Executive briefings
- Identify, document, and manage:
- Risks
- Issues
- Assumptions
- Dependencies
- Constraints
- Mitigation plans
- Ensure adherence to organizational project management, enterprise architecture, governance, and system development standards.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, approvals, audit records, and traceability artifacts.
- Support performance measurement, advantages realization tracking, and post-implementation reviews.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication





- Build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders, executive sponsors, project teams, vendors, external partners, and technical teams.
- Facilitate discussions, workshops, decision-making sessions, and stakeholder alignment activities.
- Prepare and deliver executive presentations, status reports, recommendations, and stakeholder communications.
- Support business readiness and organizational change initiatives by communicating impacts, risks, rationale, and expected outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes within established timelines.

Required Qualifications

Experience

- Extensive experience as a Business Analyst supporting complex business and technology initiatives.
- Proven experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, validation, prioritization, and management.
- Strong experience in business process analysis, business transformation, and modernization initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in governance, risk management, and quality assurance activities.
- Experience facilitating and managing diverse stakeholder groups, including senior leadership and technical teams.

Technical Skills

- Requirements and traceability management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, IBM DOORS, or similar platforms).
- Business process and workflow modeling tools.
- Advanced proficiency with:
