Contract: 2 years, with two optional 1-year extensions

About the Opportunity The Department of Health, Province of New Brunswick, is seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Business Analyst / Clinical Informatics Analyst –

- Clinical Documentation to support the Provincial Clinical Information Solution (CIS) Program, known as Symbio.

New Brunswick is undertaking a major digital health transformation to transition from multiple standalone hospital information systems to a unified, standardized, and integrated provincial Clinical Information Solution. The successful candidate will play a key role in the standardization, design, build, testing, and implementation of clinical documentation practices and workflows, with a particular focus on Inpatient Medicine.

This is an ideal opportunity for a senior clinical business analyst with substantial experience in acute-care healthcare environments, EHR/CIS implementations, clinical documentation, inpatient workflows, requirements analysis, clinical content, and healthcare provider engagement.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the standardization, design, build, validation, testing, and implementation of Clinical Documentation practices and related workflows across the provincial healthcare system.
- Act as a Clinical Documentation subject matter expert on the impact of CIS/EHR implementation and clinical digitization on clinical content, workflows, processes, procedures, and care delivery.
- Support clinical standardization initiatives specifically related to Inpatient Medicine and acute-care environments.
- Gather, analyze, validate, document, and prioritize business and system requirements.
- Facilitate discovery, requirements-gathering, validation, and future-state design workshops with physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, allied health professionals, and other healthcare stakeholders.
- Document current-state and future-state workflows, business processes, use cases, user stories, functional requirements, and detailed solution/design documentation.
- Conduct gap analysis between existing clinical processes and proposed CIS-enabled future-state processes.
- Develop and refine clinical documentation standards, templates, workflows, and related clinical content.
- Support the development and implementation of clinical deliverables for Inpatient Medicine.
- Where applicable, contribute to Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE), order sets, clinical documentation, Pharmacy, Laboratory, and Medical Imaging workflows.
- Collaborate with Clinical SMEs, project managers, clinical leads, technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to translate clinical needs into actionable system requirements and CIS solutions.
- Lead and facilitate workshops with healthcare providers to identify and articulate business requirements, system requirements, use cases, and user stories.
- Build, validate, test, and support clinical content within the CIS/EHR environment.
- Review existing business requirements and identify opportunities for standardization, optimization, and improvement.
- Develop detailed process and solution documentation, including workflows, use cases, user guides, training materials, and business analysis documentation.
- Support implementation activities, stakeholder communications, adoption, change activities, and readiness for new clinical documentation standards.
- Work collaboratively across multiple project teams and workstreams while managing competing priorities.
- Provide clear verbal, written, facilitation, and presentation support to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Apply strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills in a complex healthcare transformation environment.
- Work with a high degree of independence while maintaining strong collaboration with project leadership, SMEs, clinical stakeholders, and technical teams.




- Participate in occasional after-hours or weekend activities when required for implementation activities, with advance approval.

Mandatory Qualifications

- Education

- University degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of applicable education and experience.

M2 –

- Clinical Business Analysis / Clinical Documentation Experience

- 5+ years of experience within the last 10 years as a:

- Clinical Business Analyst

- Clinical Analyst

- Clinical Informatics Analyst
- Clinical Systems Analyst
- or equivalent role.

- Demonstrated experience with Clinical Documentation-related requirements gathering.
- Experience facilitating clinical/business workshops.

- Experience conducting

- Gap analysis

- Candidates must be able to clearly demonstrate when and where this experience was obtained.

M3 –

- Large-Scale Acute Care CIS/EHR Transformation

- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Clinical Business Analyst, Clinical Informatics Analyst, or equivalent supporting a large-scale acute-care digital health transformation or CIS implementation.
- Direct experience building, configuring, implementing, or supporting a comparable Clinical Information System (CIS) / Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Experience translating clinical workflows and requirements into digital health/CIS solutions.
- Experience supporting complex healthcare transformation programs involving multiple clinical stakeholders and/or healthcare organizations.

M4 –

- Inpatient Medicine

- Demonstrated experience developing clinical deliverables supporting Inpatient Medicine.
- Experience must relate directly to inpatient/acute-care clinical workflows, documentation, processes, clinical content, or CIS/EHR implementation.

M5 –

- Availability

- Candidate must be available to commence the assignment on or about August 24, 2026, or earlier if possible.

M6 –
