Now Hiring: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite)

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a high-visibility Enterprise Data Lake initiative , working within agile scrum teams to build scalable Hadoop and AWS Big Data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop functional & technical solutions for enterprise data platforms

• Build analytics applications using AWS Big Data technologies

• Work with Kafka, PySpark, Spark, Hadoop, Shell Scripting & SQL

- Develop real-time data streaming solutions
- Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and solution discussions
- Create reusable and scalable code components
- Collaborate with engineers, business analysts, and technical stakeholders
- Mentor team members and contribute to a fast-paced Agile environment

Must-Have Skills:

• 9+ years of overall experience with a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/technical field

- 5+ years of Big Data development experience





• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, SQL & Git

• Strong Shell scripting and complex SQL skills

• Experience with real-time data streaming systems

• Programming experience in at least 2 of: Python, Java, Scala

- Experience developing reusable, abstracted code components
- Solid performance tuning and troubleshooting skills

Preferred:

- Strong business acumen and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
