Senior Data Architect – Justice Information Management

Location: Edmonton, AB (Remote with occasional on-site visits if required

Job Type: Contract / Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in Enterprise Data Warehousing, ETL, Data Governance, Business Intelligence, and Data Architecture . The successful candidate will support data architecture initiatives within a justice/information-management environment and work with Microsoft technologies, enterprise architecture frameworks, and justice information systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data architecture and data warehouse solutions .
- Lead ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data profiling, data integration, and data quality initiatives.
- Develop and support Power BI dashboards, reports, and business intelligence solutions.
- Perform data modeling, data analysis, and data profiling to support enterprise data requirements.
- Establish and maintain data governance, information management, metadata, data quality, and data security standards.
- Work with enterprise architecture teams to align data solutions with organizational architecture standards and GAEA principles.
- Support and integrate justice-related information systems, including Justice Information Management System (JIMS) and Justice Online Information Network (JOIN) .
- Work with IBM Cognos BI and other enterprise reporting and analytics platforms.
- Support Microsoft technologies including Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom .
- Ensure compliance with applicable privacy, information-access, cybersecurity, and information-management legislation and policies.
- Apply requirements related to the Protection of Privacy Act and Access to Information Act .
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, security teams,



and enterprise architects.
- Promote Respect in the Workplace principles and maintain a professional, collaborative working environment.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect.
- 5+ years of Enterprise Data Warehouse experience.
- 3+ years of ETL / Extract, Transform, Load experience.
- 3+ years of Power BI experience.
- 2+ years of Azure Virtual Desktop experience.
- 2+ years of Windows experience.
- Hands-on experience with data profiling and data architecture .
- Experience with Data Governance and Information Management .
- Experience with Enterprise Architecture and GAEA .
- Experience with IBM Cognos BI .
- Experience with Justice Information Management System (JIMS) and Justice Online Information Network (JOIN) is required.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and Zoom .
- Knowledge of security/cybersecurity principles and enterprise data security.
