Senior Java Architect / Technical Lead – Agentic AI

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid: 3 days/week onsite)

Duration: 6-Month Contract (Extension up to 1 year possible) or FTE

Role Type: 100% Hands-On Technical Leadership

About the Role

We are looking for highly experienced, hands-on Senior Java Engineers (Architects and Technical Leads) with robust backend software engineering roots to join an innovation-focused team driving cutting-edge Agentic AI initiatives.

This is NOT a traditional Java maintenance role. We are seeking builder-minds who combine solid distributed system design with active, production-grade GenAI and Agentic AI implementation experience.

Key Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

- 8+ Years of Microservices & Backend: Minimum 8 solid years in Java backend architecture, Spring Boot, and enterprise microservices.

GenAI / RAG / Agentic AI Implementation: Proven hands-on experience building Agentic AI workflows, RAG pipelines, AI agents, or AI-powered tools. (Note: Using GitHub Copilot solely for IDE autocomplete does NOT meet this requirement).*

- 100% Hands-On Mindset: Active coding,



system designing, and technical problem-solving are mandatory.

What We Are Looking For

- Technical Depth: Strong Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and high-scale backend architecture.
- AI Adoption & Innovation: Demonstrated experience using AI frameworks/tools across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) alongside LLM/Agentic integrations.
- System Design & Problem Solving: Expertise in scalability, high-throughput architectures, performance tuning, and evaluating architectural trade-offs.
- Ownership & Research Mindset: High energy, proactive curiosity, and the ability to navigate ambiguous engineering environments.
