This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Network Security Specialist based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to strengthen the security and resilience of enterprise network environments in a hands-on operational setting.

You will play a key role in maintaining network security controls while driving technology modernization, evergreening, and continuous improvement.

The position combines complex troubleshooting, security event response, vulnerability remediation, testing, and infrastructure optimization.

You will collaborate across technical and security teams to address emerging threats and ensure network solutions meet organizational and regulatory standards.

The role also provides scope to improve operational efficiency through automation and intelligent automation initiatives.

You will contribute across production and non-production environments, including deployment validation, failover, performance testing, and disaster recovery activities.

This is a long-term remote contract suited to an experienced network security skilled who thrives in complex enterprise environments and cross-functional teams.

Accountabilities:

- Play a key role within the operational team, focusing on network security evergreening, operational support, and maintaining the integrity of security controls.
- Diagnose and resolve complex cross-functional technical issues, with particular emphasis on identifying and mitigating network security risks and vulnerabilities.
- Plan and execute testing activities covering production deployment validation, performance, failover, vulnerability remediation, and disaster recovery.
- Assess existing network and security solutions to identify security gaps, deficiencies, technical debt, and opportunities for simplification and modernization.
- Define and implement upgrades and technical changes required to address operational issues, emerging security threats, and evolving business requirements.

- Support troubleshooting across both production and non-production environments while maintaining service reliability and security.
- Monitor and analyze network security events and incidents using logs,



alerts, and monitoring platforms to identify root causes and recommend appropriate remediation.
- Work closely with internal technology and security teams to ensure network solutions comply with security policies, technical standards, and regulatory requirements.

- Contribute to strengthening the overall security posture by supporting secure network configurations, controls, and vulnerability remediation initiatives.
- Research and implement automation best practices to reduce repetitive operational tasks and improve efficiency, including the appropriate use of intelligent automation.
- Participate in related technical initiatives, deliverables, and continuous improvement activities as required.

Requirements:

- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of recent experience in network operations and network security, including enterprise-level testing, troubleshooting, and systems integration.
- At least 5 years of recent hands-on experience with network equipment, particularly Cisco switching and routing platforms.
- Strong experience with Check Point firewall technologies and security management platforms.
- Solid understanding of enterprise IT operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and handling network security events and vulnerabilities.

- Demonstrated experience supporting the development lifecycle and contributing to CI/CD processes from concept through implementation.
- Experience designing, supporting, or working with scalable and highly available service-oriented architectures.
- Hands-on experience configuring, supporting, or troubleshooting network security controls such as firewalls, network segmentation policies, and secure network configurations.





- Strong understanding of security standards and best practices applicable to enterprise network environments.
- Experience working in SCRUM/Agile environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams and using associated practices and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly when diagnosing complex security and infrastructure issues.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and security functions.
- Experience with ServiceNow is considered an advantage.
