Position Title: Senior Research & Data Analyst

Position Status: Temporary Assignment until August 31, 2027

Salary Band: $75,185 to $105,116 per year

Join our team The Design & Strategic Innovation division is seeking a strategic, forward-thinking and data-driven professional to support EO’s research and innovation agenda.

As a Senior Research & Data Analyst you will work at the intersection of analytics, technology, and user experience to transform operational data into intuitive reporting tools, applications, and automated workflows. You will collaborate with research, innovation, and operational teams to design scalable solutions that enable business users to independently access, interpret, and act on information.

What to expect in this role

Reporting to the Manager, Research & Insights, you will:

Design Digital Reporting & Operational Solutions

- Lead discovery sessions with business partners to understand operational challenges and identify opportunities for digital solutions.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable dashboards, applications, and workflow automation.
- Design intuitive reporting experiences that enable non-technical users to confidently access and interpret information.
- Develop solutions that are easy to maintain, well-documented, and have reusable components.

Build Analytics & Decision Support Tools

- Analyze operational and transactional data using SQL, Python, and business intelligence tools.
- Develop Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and performance reporting solutions.
- Build Power Apps applications and Power Automate workflows that improve operational efficiency.
- Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems to support reporting and decision-making.
- Apply appropriate technologies—including scripting, automation, AI-assisted development, and low-code platforms—to deliver practical, high-value solutions.

Collaborate Across Design & Strategic Innovation

- Partner with researchers, analysts, designers, and operational teams throughout solution discovery, development, testing, and implementation.




- Recommend appropriate technical approaches based on business needs, scalability, governance, and user experience.
- Contribute to technical standards, reusable components, and best practices across the team.
- Mentor colleagues and promote data literacy and self-service reporting capabilities.

Drive Innovation & Continuous Improvement

- Evaluate emerging technologies and modern development practices to improve delivery, usability, and operational efficiency.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT) responsibly to accelerate solution design, coding, testing, documentation, and problem solving while maintaining accountability for quality, security, and accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and simplify complex workflows.
- Foster a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, and evidence-informed innovation.

What you need to qualify

Technical Expertise

- Advanced experience designing and developing Power BI dashboards, semantic models, DAX measures, and interactive reporting solutions.
- Experience developing business applications using Microsoft Power Apps and workflow automation using Power Automate.
- Advanced SQL skills for querying, transforming, and validating large operational datasets.
- Demonstrated experience using Python for data preparation, automation, API integration, and analytical workflows.
- Experience working with relational databases, data modelling, ETL processes, and enterprise data integration.
- Experience designing user-centered digital solutions for non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with version control, testing, documentation, and maintainable software development practices.

- Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business problems into practical, scalable technical solutions.
- Excellent analytical, systems-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to lead solution discovery with clients and recommend appropriate technologies and approaches.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

This position requires in-office presence of five days per week. There is no hybrid opportunity.
