Maharaja Restaurant is looking for a reliable and guest-focused Server/Bartender to join our front-of-house team at our Homestead location.

The successful candidate will be comfortable serving tables, preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, processing payments, and supporting the overall operation of the restaurant. Some previous serving or bartending experience is preferred; however, training can be provided to the right person with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

Weekend availability and the ability to work late closing shifts are essential for this position.

Responsibilities

- Welcome guests and provide friendly, attentive, and professional service.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to restaurant standards.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, beverages, specials, and common dietary or allergy concerns.
- Check on guests throughout their meal and respond promptly to requests.
- Process cash, credit, and debit payments accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked bar and service area.
- Complete opening, restocking, cleaning, and closing duties.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently.
- Follow Alberta liquor regulations and responsible alcohol-service requirements.




- Work cooperatively with other front-of-house employees and the kitchen team.
- Help maintain a welcoming, clean, and professional restaurant environment.

Requirements
- Some previous restaurant serving or bartending experience is preferred.
- Applicants with limited experience may be considered if they demonstrate reliability, confidence, and a willingness to learn.
- Valid Alberta ProServe certification or willingness to obtain it promptly.
- Strong communication and guest-service skills.
- Ability to remain organized and composed during busy service periods.
- Comfortable handling cash and using a point-of-sale system.
- Ability to stand and move throughout the shift while carrying trays, food, and beverages.
- Must be available to work weekends and late closing shifts.
- Must have a reliable way to travel home after late shifts, as public transportation may not be available when closing duties are completed.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Schedule Applicants must be available for:
- Weekend shifts
- Evening shifts
- Late-night closing shifts, which may finish after midnight

Full time and part-time positions are available. Scheduling will be based on availability, experience, and the operational needs of the restaurant. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $15.50-$18.00 per hour
