We are seeking a Services Manager to join our team for a Staffed Home in Vernon, BC. The home supports adults with physical disabilities and complex health and personal care needs.

Persons

Supported use wheelchairs and require assistance with activities of daily living, personal care, mobility and transfers, including the use of mechanical lifts. The manager will also provide leadership and oversight to staff supporting individuals with epilepsy and other health-care needs. Reporting to the Director of Services, this position is responsible for managing assigned programs and direct support staff and ensuring that Persons Supported receive safe, high-quality, person-centered services that meet agency standards, accreditation requirements, and applicable legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate plans and programs to ensure Persons Supported needs are met.
- Provide leadership and supervision to direct support staff.
- Promote and support safe, person-centered health and personal care practices, including oversight of personal care, mobility and transfers, mechanical lifts and adaptive equipment, individualized health-care plans and protocols, seizure response, staff training, problem solving, and liaison with health-care professionals and external practitioners.
- Promote and support Positive Behaviour Support practices, including staff training, data collection,



objective reporting, problem solving, and liaison with Behaviour Consultants and other external professionals.
- Ensure accurate documentation, confidentiality, reporting, and budget oversight within assigned services.
- Foster strong relationships with families, contractors, government funders, and community partners.
- Work in the delivery of front-line service, when required, including providing or assisting with personal care, mobility and physical supports in accordance with individual plans and agency procedures.
- Participate in the agency’s on-call rotation and respond to operational or emergency situations as required.

Education, Training and Experience:

- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma/Certificate directly related to Community Living Services or the equivalent education and experience.
- Diploma/Certificate directly related to Supervision/Leadership and/or minimum of 3 years’ Supervisory experience.
- 3+ years experience in Community Living Services, including direct program delivery.
- Experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities and complex health and personal care needs is strongly preferred.




- Familiarity with Interior Health’s Community Care Facilities Licensing under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act considered an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of personal care, mobility and transfer supports, mechanical lifts, and individualized health and safety protocols.
- Experience supporting individuals with seizure disorders and implementing seizure response protocols is an asset.
- Experience working collaboratively with nurses, physicians, therapists, families, and other health-care professionals is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of positive behaviour support practices.
- Excellent oral, written, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as computer literacy.
- Demonstrated teamwork, leadership, supervisory skills, and a solid commitment to principles of collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively with program/service staff, funders, and other agencies and organizations.
- Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively within the team.
- Exceptional time management skills, proven reliability and consistent work attendance.
- Valid Mandt training.
- Valid First Aid + CPR Certificate
- Valid Unrestricted Class 4 BC Driver’s License (or the ability to obtain one during probation period), clean driving record, proof of insurance, and reliable vehicle.

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
