Andrews.engineer (A.E) is a consulting civil engineering company exclusively focused on municipal asset management. We are, first and foremost, sewer engineering experts. Founded in 1993, A.E has extensive experience and involvement in all stages of sewer asset management including collection and storage of sewer inventory data, the execution of sewer and manhole condition assessment programs, and the planning, design and construction administration of sewer rehabilitation works.

A.E is a growing, employee-owned firm with a team of over 50 skilled engineers, technical staff, site inspectors and administration support.

Job Responsibilities:

The position will be in project team for multi-year sewer inspection programs for municipalities in GTA. The successful candidate will be involved in the following tasks:

- Coordinate and schedule field activities with subcontractors, municipal stakeholders, and internal inspection crews to ensure seamless project execution.
- Prepare and submit permit applications to road authorities and other agencies, tracking approvals and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Develop detailed site investigation plans for sewer inspection projects
- Perform QA/QC for sewers and maintenance holes inspection using MS Access, Excel and other platforms
- Review sewer inspection videos to provide condition assessment
- Clean-up and modify database structures for client submittals. Tasks include compiling data from field crews and contractors, updating project databases, assisting in condition assessment, and testing/validating the in-house database using current data (knowledge of VBA or SQL is considered an asset)
- Perform field work as required including collecting, managing, and interpreting field data (such as maintenance hole inspections and GPS locations), with occasional night shifts
- Support engineers in sewer rehabilitation design projects, including technical writing

Qualifications and Skills:



We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and skills:

- 4-year bachelor’s degree in engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience (including co-op experience) preferred
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders (subcontractors, municipal staff, field crews) and manage competing priorities
- Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet and database (Microsoft Access) applications
- An Understanding of various material properties (concrete, PVC, clay etc.), basic municipal infrastructure principles, and willingness to learn
- A motivated self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and the ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks
- Excellent communication skills

Benefits:
- Competitive Hourly Rate starting at $32 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications
- 37.5 hour regular work week with additional hours available, with occasional opportunity for overtime
- Overtime pay after 44 hours
- Work from home Mondays and Fridays, In-office at 55 Horner Avenue on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
