Job Title: Shipper/Receiver

Reports To: Shop Supervisor

Job Summary The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for shipping, receiving, handling, storing, and moving inventory and supplies, both physically and electronically, within the facility to appropriate product locations. The Shipper/Receiver’s duties will include inventory reporting, verifying and approving inbound/outbound shipments, and loading/unloading materials.

Essential Duties

- Load and unload trucks, verifying shipment details against load/packing slips, bills of lading, orders, and invoices.
- Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipment including the creation of shipping labels and all required shipping documentation.
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation for all outgoing equipment and bags, ensuring accuracy and compliance with requirements.
- Track, trace, and update shipment and receipt statuses for inventoried products, materials, and supplies.
- Manage vendor-supplied hardware including intake, tracking, and system reconciliation.
- Perform enterprise resource planning (ERP) system transactions including issuing materials, posting transactions, and closing jobs to maintain accurate production and inventory records.
- Maintain accurate inventory in the ERP system through regular counts, reconciliations, and system updates.
- Collaborate with the Logistics Coordinator, Shop Supervisor, and Operations Manager to resolve inventory discrepancies and quality concerns.
- Support increased shipping and receiving functions on the bag line as operational needs grow.
- Safely operate material handling equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean workspace in line with safety standards.

- Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items shipped/received.
- Ability to successfully organize and manage details, multiple projects, and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to effectively work with resource planning system, spreadsheets, word processing documents, and other applicable computer systems and software, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
- Communication, teamwork, and customer service skills are critical as employee is expected to work directly and indirectly with all levels of employees, customers, and outside vendors.
- Consistently demonstrate a high level of responsibility and accountability in assigned tasks.

Education and Experience

- Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory management practices typically acquired through previous related experience.




- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in inventory management, shipping, receiving, or warehousing is required.

Physical Requirements

- Consistent walking, talking, sitting, standing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, repetitive motions, pulling,
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods of time.
- Capability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects of various weights up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Proficiency in using hands, fingers, and arms for tasks such as typing and writing.
- Sufficient visual acuity to read documents and recognize details at close and distant ranges.
- Ability to hear and understand verbal communication.
- Flexibility to bend, stoop, and reach low or high objects.
- Adaptability to work in varying environmental conditions, such as temperature extremes, noise, dust, or fumes, depending on the nature of the job.
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and wear protective gear, including helmets, goggles, gloves, and safety shoes, as required by the job.

Travel Requirements This position requires occasional overnight travel and occasional travel within the workday.

Driver Qualification The ability to drive a company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle on behalf of the company may be required. Inclusion in the company’s driver qualification program is required to drive a company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle.

Becoming a qualified driver includes:

- Agree to the company driving policies that apply to company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle as applicable.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver license and be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record, as evidenced by completion of a baseline motor vehicle record check and ongoing monitoring.
- When driving a personal vehicle on behalf of the company, must provide a copy of the declaration page from personal auto insurance that shows the policy dates and minimum coverage amounts ($300,000 bodily injury per accident/$100,000 property damage per accident or if driving less than 5 hours/200 miles a year $50,000 bodily injury per accident/$10,000 property damage per accident or the state minimum, whichever is more). This requirement is initially and then annually thereafter.
