Shipper / Receiver / Yard Attendant

IWL Steel Fabricators is looking for a reliable and hardworking Shipper / Receiver / Yard Attendant to join our team. This position plays an important role in keeping materials and fabricated components organized and moving efficiently between our yard, shop, suppliers, and customers.

Responsibilities

- Receive and inspect incoming materials and supplies
- Verify material quantities, identification, and shipping paperwork
- Prepare fabricated components and materials for shipment
- Load and unload trucks and trailers
- Safely rig and handle steel and fabricated components
- Operate overhead cranes to move and stage materials and finished products
- Stage materials and fabricated components for production and shipment
- Properly secure loads for transportation
- Keep the yard and material storage areas organized and accessible
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records
- Coordinate with truck drivers, suppliers, customers, and shop personnel
- Assist production personnel with material handling as required
- Perform general yard maintenance and housekeeping
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Qualifications
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving,



material handling, or a steel fabrication environment is an asset
- Overhead crane experience is an asset but not required — training will be provided
- Ability to safely handle and work around large steel components
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Robust work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-minded, organized, and willing to work hard. You should take pride in keeping the yard and materials organized and be willing to help wherever needed to keep the shop running efficiently. Experience in steel fabrication, construction, or industrial shipping/receiving is considered an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
