INTRODUCTION TO ROLE
We are looking for a Silicon Validation Engineer to join our R&D; team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical testing of early-stage silicon and its ongoing maintenance until product release. You will work closely with the ASIC and MEMS design teams to plan experiments and will have opportunities to contribute to the development of low-noise, high-performance analog and digital circuits.
This role involves working on diverse projects, where you will develop electronic circuits using both hardware and software. You will also provide support to testing, applications, and reliability engineers within a cross-functional team
This role reports directly to the VP of Systems Engineering, with an expected total of 40 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Perform testing of analog and mixed-signal ASICs and ASIC + MEMS systems at the wafer level and after packaging;
- Create and execute validation/characterization plans for final products, ensuring project timelines are met;
- Design schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer;
- Assist in the development of embedded systems and firmware;
- Work closely with test houses to set up final test infrastructure and deploy production test programs;
- Analyze and process data to generate comprehensive reports.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Science, or a related field;
- Strong background in analyzing and testing analog and digital electronics;
- Experience using and automating measurement equipment such as Oscilloscopes, VNAs, PNAs, and SMUs;
- Experienced in using Altium Designer;
- Knowledge of embedded systems and programming;
- Proficiency in computer programming (Python, C++, or MATLAB are preferred);
- Experience with data analysis;
- Detail-oriented with proven problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication skills.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Background in high frequency analog and mixed-signal electronics and measurement systems would be an asset;
- Having an experience in micro-electro-mechanical-systems;
- Having extensive experience with high volume semiconductor testers and handlers;
- Works well under pressure and has great time management skills;
- Being a team player and collaborates well with others.
