The National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB®) is the organization responsible for establishing and maintaining a national standard of competence for dentists in Canada. Its mission is to serve the Canadian public, Dental Regulatory Authorities, and dental education institutions by ensuring a valid and reliable evaluation of competence for dentists in Canada.

We are currently looking for individuals to fill the role of simulated patients for our clinical examination the NDECC®. As a simulated patient you will take on the characteristics of a real patient. You will portray various types of patients through conversations with dentist-examinees who will be assessed on managing work-related situations.

The scenarios will be based on patient care issues, professionalism issues, communication and collaboration, and the promotion of oral health. In your role as a Simulated Patient, all scenarios will be through conversation only, there are no physical assessments.





Coaching and training will be provided to ensure that you can accurately and consistently recreate the history of a patient in a specific scenario.

Required Skills and Experience

- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to speak openly and constructively
- Ability to follow instruction and work autonomously
- Ability to work with sensitive matters in a qualified and mature fashion
- Flexible work schedule
- Ability to practice a high level of confidentiality
- French would be considered a strong asset
- Experience in dramatic arts or acting are assets

This is a part-time role, working up to 16 half days (8am – 12pm) per month, earning $30/hour. Accommodations will be provided at all stages of the hiring process; we ask applicants to make their needs known in advance.
