CiviCorp Excavation Inc. is a growing civil construction contractor specializing in excavation, earthworks, underground utilities, and site development across Nova Scotia. We're looking for hard-working Skilled Labourers who take pride in their work, keep a secure and organized site, and support our crews on excavation, trenching, and underground utility projects. This role reports to the Site Foreman and works closely with equipment operators and other ground crew.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labour duties to support crews on excavation and civil construction sites.

• Assist equipment operators and ground crew with daily site activities as directed.

• Handle and organize materials, tools, and equipment, and help keep the site clean and orderly.

• Support the crew safely around heavy equipment and open excavations.

• Follow direction from the Foreman and communicate clearly with the rest of the team.

• Follow all company safety procedures and Nova Scotia Occupational Health & Safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in civil construction, excavation, underground utilities, road building, or infrastructure work is an asset.

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to work as part of a crew.

• Comfortable performing physical, hands-on work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Valid driver's licence is an asset.

• Safety certifications such as WHMIS, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, or Traffic Control are an asset (training available).





Job Conditions & Physical Requirements

This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions, with physical hazards such as noise, dust, fumes, uneven ground, and moving equipment present throughout active construction sites. Required PPE includes safety boots, hearing protection, hi-visibility clothing, and a hard hat. Labourers should be able to stand, walk, bend, and work on uneven ground for extended periods; frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds; and maintain steady attention to their surroundings for safe, productive work.

Workdays may be long and start early depending on project schedules.
