As a Social Worker I, you will play a critical frontline role in delivering child welfare services and supporting positive outcomes for children, youth, and families.

These positions are essential to supporting rural and remote communities, where access to services may be limited. This role provides a unique opportunity to ensure equitable access to services across geographically dispersed areas.
What You Will Do
As a Social Worker I, you will deliver professional social work services across a range of programs, including Protective Intervention Services, Adoption Services, Youth Services, and Community Youth Corrections.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct risk and safety assessments for children, youth, and families
- Provide counselling and case management services to individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Screen, assess, and prioritize referrals for service
- Develop and implement intervention and case plans
- Collaborate and consult with internal teams and community partners
- Complete documentation in accordance with legislation, policy, and professional standards
You will also prepare reports and legal documentation, provide testimony in court as required, and conduct home and community visits to support service delivery.
This work often involves responding to complex situations, including crisis and emotionally challenging circumstances, requiring sound judgment, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills.
A key component of this role is travel to rural and remote communities to ensure consistent and equitable service delivery. This includes working directly in communities where services are not always locally based.
The position will be assigned to one of the above communities to support service delivery in rural communities and includes travel requirements. Employees will work a flexible schedule, including one week on travel status within a four-week period, with the remainder of time spent completing casework from an assigned headquarters location based on operational needs.

You are also comfortable working independently while travelling to support clients in rural and remote communities.
Screening Criteria
1. Completion of a Bachelor of Social Work Degree (BSW)
2. Experience working with children, youth and families
3. Experience working in the field of child protection (asset)

2. Certificate of Conduct satisfactory to the Employer

5. Proof of valid Class 5 driver’s license
6. Private vehicle with Business Insurance
Conditions of Acceptance
