Role Description: The Social Services Specialist is a full-time role based in Kings, Subdivision A, NS, in a hybrid work arrangement that combines on-site community engagement with some work-from-home flexibility. The specialist will conduct intake assessments, provide case management services, and coordinate social support for individuals and families connected to Birbal’s AI and digital inclusion programs.

Daily responsibilities include connecting community members to appropriate resources, maintaining accurate and confidential records, and collaborating with program staff to ensure services are inclusive, effective, and culturally responsive. The role also involves organizing and participating in community outreach activities,



facilitating workshops or information sessions, and gathering feedback from participants to improve programs.

The Social Services

Specialist will work closely with partner organizations, monitor client progress, and contribute to reporting and evaluation to support continuous improvement of social impact initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Demonstrated experience in Social Work and Social Services, with the ability to support individuals and families facing diverse social and economic challenges.
- Background in Human Services and Case Management, including conducting assessments, developing service plans, and coordinating referrals.
- Skills in Community Outreach, with experience building trust, engaging stakeholders, and facilitating access to programs and resources.
- Diploma or degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field; eligibility for relevant professional registration or certification is an asset.
- Strong communication, active listening, and documentation skills, with a commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, manage time independently, and collaborate in multidisciplinary and cross-cultural teams.
- Experience working with marginalized or underserved communities; familiarity with digital inclusion, AI-driven programs, or non-profit environments is a plus.
- Proficiency with basic office software and comfort learning new digital tools used for case tracking and program coordination.
