Role Description The Social Worker will provide direct clinical services, including psychosocial assessments, individual and family counseling, and supportive interventions for clients experiencing perinatal and maternal mental health concerns.
Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and implementing treatment plans, maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, and coordinating care with other health and community providers.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in psychosocial assessment, individual counseling,
family support, and treatment planning.
- Experience working with perinatal, maternal, or family mental health, including anxiety, depression, and adjustment challenges.
- Strong abilities in crisis intervention, safety planning, and referral to appropriate community and healthcare resources.
- Proficiency in maintaining clinical records, documentation, and confidentiality in accordance with professional and legal standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build therapeutic relationships in a diverse, inclusive environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary setting and to exercise sound clinical judgment and professional boundaries.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Registration in valuable standing (or eligibility for registration) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
- Previous experience in psychotherapy or counseling settings; perinatal or maternal health experience is an asset.
