About the Position:
Reporting to the Housing and Community Services Supervisor and supported by a team lead, this position is part of a newly formed, integrated crisis response team.
The Social
Worker will practice within their full scope while providing embedded, co-response, and follow-up interventions in partnership with local police services.
The role provides immediate mobile mental health and substance use response, intervention, support, and service navigation. Working closely with Lanark County OPP and Smiths Falls Police Service, the incumbent will be stationed within police service locations as a key resource, assisting with mental health and substance use calls when safe and appropriate.
The Social
Worker will also serve as a primary point of contact for police partners and collaborate with LCMH, other health system partners, and LCMH staff to support engagement, referrals, counselling, harm reduction, crisis planning, and follow-up.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master of Social Work degree from a recognized university and registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
- Ability to obtain and maintain enhance security screening as per police SOP
- Wide range of crisis intervention experience, risk assessments and interventions that include hospital based psychiatric services, emergency department experience and community mental health services and system navigation.
- Minimum three to five years relevant/recent experience directly related to the provision of mental health and/or addictions services required.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR an asset.
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) an asset.
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention training an asset.
Pay: $44.67-$57.90 per hour
