The Opportunity: Software Developer – XpressA Re-Design

Key Responsibilities:

- Participate in the architecture and re-design of the XpressA Web platform
- Develop backend services for data ingestion, processing, and analytics of QAR data
- Build intuitive, responsive user interfaces for data visualization and reporting
- Integrate APIs for automated data uploads and airline operation systems
- Implement user authentication, session management, and secure data handling
- Work closely with stakeholders to align software features with aviation compliance standards (e.g., ICAO, FAA, TCCA FDM programs)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Core Technical Skills:

- Languages: Proficiency in Python, PHP, SQL, JavaScript/TypeScript / React
- Frameworks: Django/Flask or Express.js; React.js or Vue.js
- Concurrency & Performance: Solid expertise in Python multiprocessing, concurrent.futures, and async programming to parse and process heavy datasets in parallel.
- High-Performance Data Processing: Familiarity with modern data formats: time-series data, JSON, CSV, Parquet, Apache Arrow, and raw binary formats.
- Databases:



Deep experience with analytical column-oriented or time-series databases: ClickHouse or TimescaleDB (mandatory for high-volume telemetry aggregation). Traditional relational and document databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
- Data Visualization: D3.js, Chart.js, or equivalent for custom dashboards
- DevOps: Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Linux server environments
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure, Hetzner or GCP is a plus
- Big Data: Experience working with large-scale datasets, data pipelines, and optimizing performance for high-volume analytics

Desirable Experience:

- Familiarity with aviation data standards (ARINC 717/429, FDR/QAR formats)
- Knowledge of flight data analysis and FOQA/FDM requirements
- Experience building analytics dashboards with alerting/reporting features
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in aviation or enterprise software

- Ability to work independently and in small, agile teams
- Effective communication with non-technical stakeholders
- Commitment to documentation, testing, and maintainable code

Deliverables:

- Re-engineered backend with scalable architecture for flight data ingestion and analytics
- Responsive frontend with user-friendly dashboards and export tools
- Admin interface for managing users, fleets, alerts, and system settings
- Automated reporting and data trend visualization tools
- Secure data access and audit trail features

Pay: $60,000.00-$148,000.00 per year
