We are partnering with a high-growth North American infrastructure business to identify a Senior Tax Manager who will play a critical role in building and shaping the company's tax function.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a highly visible, strategic position with responsibility for Canadian and U.S. tax matters across a growing cross-border organization. This is an opportunity for a commercially minded tax professional who wants to build something—not simply manage an established compliance process.
The Opportunity
As the company's first dedicated tax hire, you will have significant ownership and visibility across the organization. You will advise senior leadership on tax strategy, entity structuring, cross-border transactions and major infrastructure investments while also establishing the policies and processes needed to support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Canadian and U.S. tax matters, including corporate income tax, indirect tax and cross-border considerations.
- Advise the CFO and senior leadership on tax planning, entity structuring and intercompany arrangements.
- Review commercial contracts, leases and supplier agreements for tax implications.
- Support major infrastructure investments, including capital cost treatment and available tax incentives.
- Manage Canadian and U.S. tax compliance, working with external advisors as appropriate.
- Develop and implement the company's internal tax policies, processes and framework.
- Monitor changes in Canadian and U.S. tax legislation and translate them into practical business guidance.
What We're Looking For
- CPA or equivalent professional designation.
- Approximately 8–10 years of post-qualification tax experience.
- Big Four training with robust Canadian and U.S. tax knowledge.
- Experience within infrastructure, energy, real estate, digital infrastructure or another capital-intensive industry.
- Demonstrated experience with cross-border tax matters and entity structures.
- Strong commercial judgment and the ability to identify tax implications within contracts and business transactions.
- Comfortable operating independently and building processes in a fast-growing organization.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to advise senior executives.
Why This Role? This is an opportunity to become the internal tax leader from day one, working directly with the CFO and having a meaningful influence on how a rapidly growing North American business structures transactions, invests capital and scales across borders.
If you're a strategic tax professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working close to the business and building rather than inheriting, we'd like to hear from you.
