What is the role?
This is a tremendous opportunity to reinvent architecture in the AI Age. As a Staff AI Architect/Engineer, you will operate at the intersection of hands‑on AI building and enterprise advisory, helping to standardize how AI solutions are designed and delivered across the bank. In this blended role, you will both build AI‑powered solutions and advise engineering and business teams, with your advisory work spanning the full spectrum from lightweight architectural guidance to direct, hands‑on engineering assistance, depending on what each team needs.
What will you do?
- Blend building and advising. Depending on the engagement, provide anything from high‑level solution architecture guidance to direct, hands‑on engineering support, meeting teams wherever they are on their delivery journey.
- Partner closely with engineering teams and lines of business to design and deliver scalable, secure and maintainable AI systems, ensuring solutions are built on the right platforms and patterns, fit for purpose, aligned to our AI technology strategy, and practically implementable and maintainable in production, with reusability of capabilities as a key focus.
- Translate business and technical problems into implementable solution designs, then contribute hands‑on development to help bring those designs to life.
- Drive enterprise AI standardization. Contribute to AI standards, patterns and reference architectures so that AI solutions across the bank are consistent, reusable, well‑governed and easily consumable, even as the underlying platforms rapidly evolve.
- Help establish an Architecture mindset by partnering with AI engineering teams to capture and review their designs and provide architectural guidance. Research technologies and work with vendors/partners to evaluate them.
- Build tools, Agents and MCPs to support and automate our architecture practice. Drive an 'as code' mindset.
You're our ideal candidate if you:
- Are a builder who also advises. You are passionate about AI, naturally curious,
and driven to turn ideas into reality, and you're equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to write code or stepping back to guide a team's architecture.
- Don't wait for someone to tell you what to do next. You see opportunities, ask questions, challenge assumptions, and take ownership. You have the ability to cut through complexity, get to the root of a problem and drive solutions forward.
- Enjoy experimentation, rapid prototyping, and learning through execution. You aren't afraid to test new ideas, iterate quickly, and continuously improve. You understand that innovation rarely starts perfect; it starts with a strong idea, thoughtful execution and a willingness to learn.
- Have a strong grasp of up-to-date AI technologies and frameworks, stay current with a rapidly evolving landscape, and enjoy getting hands‑on with emerging tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, and other AI orchestration frameworks to rapidly prototype, evaluate, and deliver innovative solutions.
- Are energized by emerging AI technologies, enjoy solving difficult problems, and thrive in environments where you can make an impact. If that sounds like you, we'd love to talk.
What's in it for you?
- Become part of a team that thinks progressively and works collaboratively. We care about seeing each other reach full potential.
- A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock options where applicable.
- Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities.
- Ability to make a difference and lasting impact from a local-to-global scale.
