Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility
Provide emotional support and companionship
Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing team
Work under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RN) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPN)
Follow individualized care plans and hospital protocols
Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Ensure infection prevention and control practices are followed
Respond to call bells and emergency situations
Assist with patient transfers, ambulation, and positioning
Support meal service and feeding when required
Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for patients
Requirements
Valid Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate
Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) (within 6–12 months)
Up-to-date TB Test
CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital workplace
Excellent teamwork and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and under pressure
High level of professionalism and compassion
Experience in medication assistance is an asset
Certifications such as NVCI and GPA are considered assets
