Acquire hands-on experience in accounting as an Accounting Student with the Region of Waterloo’s Treasury Services. This temporary position lasts for four months, providing insights into financial operations.
As an Accounting Student in this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the analysis and reconciliation of financial data, preparing journal entries, and maintaining investment documentation. This position allows you to leverage your academic knowledge in a practical setting while gaining a deeper understanding of financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
• Prepare journal entries and verify transactions
• Analyze sinking fund investment activity




• Maintain financial schedules and generate reports
• Perform additional accounting tasks as directed
Requirements:
• Registered full time in an accounting or business program
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles required
• Solid computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office
• Valuable communication skills for working in teams
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
