Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is seeking a Structural Designer to join our Digital Delivery team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of structural design and production tasks related to temporary structures that support construction operations. The Structural Designer will contribute to the development of construction documents and 3D models and will work closely with engineers, estimators, and construction teams. The successful candidate should have experience producing construction documents and be proficient with current technical tools and software.

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Location

This position is based in Darlington - 5 days/week in the office.

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to develop accurate 3D models for temporary structures supporting construction activities on Kiewit projects.
- Use 3D software platforms to develop design and construction documents for estimating support, construction execution, and material procurement.
- Maintain accurate status updates for assigned tasks and activities within team schedules.
- Apply established company standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting and design processes.
- Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to identify and resolve design conflicts and discrepancies.
- Support the development of practical, constructible, and safe temporary structure solutions.

Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience producing 3D-based construction documents is considered an asset.
- Associate degree or diploma in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Engineering Technology, or a related program, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Revit, including 3D modeling, sheet production, and family creation.




- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or Navisworks is considered an asset.
- General understanding of structural engineering principles and materials.
- Understanding of the overall construction document development process.
- Knowledge of structural connections for steel and concrete structures.
- Strong ability to visualize and work with 3D concepts.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and construction teams.

Base Compensation: $70,000/yr - $110,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
