We are seeking an experienced Structural & Miscellaneous Steel Detailer to prepare accurate shop drawings, erection drawings, and fabrication details for structural and miscellaneous steel projects. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of steel fabrication and construction drawings and be able to coordinate effectively with engineers, fabricators, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed shop drawings and erection drawings for structural and miscellaneous steel.

- Detail steel components including beams, columns, braces, stairs, railings, ladders, platforms, canopies, and miscellaneous metals.

- Interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings and specifications.

- Create accurate fabrication details, connection details, material lists, and bills of materials.

- Review drawings for dimensions, tolerances, constructability, and fabrication requirements.

- Incorporate engineer, architect, and client comments into revised drawings.

- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, fabricators, and site personnel to resolve drawing discrepancies.

- Prepare and manage RFIs when information or design clarification is required.





- Ensure drawings comply with applicable project specifications, industry standards, and codes.

- Maintain drawing revisions and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

- Previous experience as a Structural Steel Detailer / Miscellaneous Steel Detailer.

- Strong understanding of structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection processes.

- Experience with steel detailing software such as Tekla Structures, SDS/2, AutoCAD, or similar programs.

- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

- Knowledge of steel connections, welding, bolting, and fabrication practices.

- Solid attention to detail and accuracy.

- Good organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Experience

- Experience detailing both structural steel and miscellaneous metals.

- Knowledge of AISC/CISC standards and applicable building codes.

- Experience working directly with steel fabrication shops and erection teams.

- Familiarity with CNC/DSTV files and fabrication documentation is an asset.
