Faculty/Department Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science Unit Engineering-Dean's Office Employee Group CUPE 2419 CUPE 5791 Job Family N/A Category Student Number of Vacancies 1 Position Summary The purpose of this position is to assist with the following research tasks focusing on bridging the gap between spatial modelling, temporal biomass estimation, and network constrained facility siting.

- Research literature review on temporal biomass estimates, network constrained facility siting, and spatial optimization.
- Develop a pipeline that combines temporal biomass modelling, dynamic residue estimates, and facility siting.
- Application of this pipeline to study areas, fine tuning, and error estimate analysis.
- Technical report and manuscript editing and formatting, assisting in preparing conference papers and technical reports.

Position Requirements Applicants should have an appropriate background, including but not limited to engineering, geoscience, or computer science. Applicants should also have:
- Interest and comfort in working with spatial analysis tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, and other equivalent tools).
- Skills in statistical analysis using python or other programming languages.
- Ability to work remotely and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Experience with remote sensing datasets.

Physical Demands Pay Grade As Per CUPE 2419 Salary Range As per 2419 Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours Up to 10 hours per week. The student will need to record and report actual time commitment in every pay period. Paid bi-weekly.
