Lead the Lax Kw’alaams Wap Suwilaawksa School as Superintendent from September 2026. Empower student learning through culturally grounded initiatives and strategic leadership. In this key role, you will direct educational programs while honouring the values of the Lax Kw’alaams First Nation.
You will lead community-engaged strategies, enhancing student success while ensuring cultural integration in all educational practices. A focus on trauma-informed and inclusive educational environments will drive your initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement a culture of student well-being and belonging
- Enhance student literacy, engagement, and graduation rates
- Foster culturally authentic programming and land-based education
- Guide staff and recruit exceptional educators to support student success
- Ensure compliance with educational standards and governmental regulations
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related discipline
- Seven years of experience in educational leadership
- Proven success in managing budgets and educational programs
- Robust understanding of Indigenous community engagement
- Facilitate effective governance and accountability practices
