Step into a leadership role as Supervisor for the Forestry and Natural Heritage Program at the Region of Waterloo. Drive sustainability and community engagement in forest management. You will ensure compliance with the Woodland Conservation By-law while engaging with community stakeholders and promoting ecological health. The role involves balancing operational responsibilities with long-term sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development of forestry and conservation management plans
- Assign and monitor work for natural heritage staff
- Manage implementation of the Woodland Conservation By-law
- Foster relationships with First Nations for cooperative initiatives
- Communicate with the public on forestry issues Requirements:
- Degree in forestry, ecology, or environmental science
- Must hold or be eligible for RPF in Ontario
- Experience in woodland conservation and natural resource management
- Proven leadership skills within a public sector context
