Job Type: Casual / Supply / On-Call

Schedule: Monday–Friday, based on program needs

Reports to: Psychotherapist/EarlyON Manager

About the Position

Heart Beatz EarlyON Child and Family Centre is seeking a reliable, energetic, and caringSupply EarlyON Educator to provide casual and on-call coverage for our EarlyON programs.

The Supply Educator will support welcoming, inclusive, play-based programs for children birth to six years of age and their parents/caregivers. Programming is guided by Ontario's How Does Learning Happen? framework and the foundations of Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement, and Expression.

Responsibilities

- Provide coverage when regular EarlyON educators are absent or additional support is required.
- Welcome and engage children, parents, and caregivers.
- Facilitate play-based activities, including circle time, stories, music and movement, creative arts, sensory exploration, and early literacy.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and communication development.
- Encourage parents and caregivers to participate in their children's learning.
- Create inclusive and culturally responsive experiences that reflect the families and communities we serve.
- Support children with diverse abilities and developmental needs.
- Maintain active supervision and a secure, clean, welcoming program environment.
- Assist with program set-up, materials, snack routines, sanitation, and clean-up.
- Work collaboratively with EarlyON educators and the Program Manager.
- Follow Heart Beatz EarlyON policies, procedures, confidentiality, and health and safety requirements.





Qualifications

- RECE, ECA, or related education/experience preferred.
- Experience working with children from birth to six years and their families.
- Knowledge of child development and play-based learning.
- Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen? is an asset.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and culturally responsive practice.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check.
- RECE registration in good standing, if applicable.

Availability Requirements Candidates must have flexible weekday availability and be willing to work shifts based on program and staffing needs.

Applicants must be available on short notice when required. Because this is a supply position, shifts are not guaranteed and may be offered due to staff absences, vacation coverage, special programs, or increased program needs.

Reliability and consistent communication regarding availability are essential.
