Responsibilities

- Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene in all food preparation areas
- Source fresh ingredients and manage inventory to ensure quality and availability of supplies
- Educate team members on proper sushi techniques and presentation standards
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings
- Ensure timely service by efficiently managing multiple orders during busy hours




- Uphold company policies and procedures related to food handling, safety, and sanitation

Experience

- Proven experience working as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling
- Experience working with children or in educational settings is a plus, demonstrating patience and transparent communication skills
- Background in cooking with an emphasis on freshness, presentation, and consistency
- Classroom experience or early childhood education background is advantageous for roles involving teaching or mentoring junior staff or trainees
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Passion for culinary arts combined with a commitment to continuous learning and skill development

Pay: $18.25-$25.00 per hour Work Location: Hybrid remote in Richmond, BC V6X 1A4
