Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager, Environmental Sustainability, the Sustainability Consultant is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating various sustainability initiatives for Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), Fraser Health, Providence Health Care and Provincial Health Services Authority consistent with sustainability goals, policies, and mandate. This includes facilitating dialogue and co-development of sustainability initiatives/projects from idea to implementation/roll out of project/initiative utilizing project and/or change management principles. Provides leadership and mentors/coaches assigned project staff.
This work is framed within VCH’s commitments to our pillars of Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Resource Management, Business, Marketing or related discipline, plus an applicable certificate such as LEED Green Associate, Change Management or Facilitation, supplemented with three (3) to five (5) years' recent, related experience developing and implementing environmental programs in a large complex organization, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.

- Demonstrated ability to synthesize and interpret complex concepts and data.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work and balance multiple activities concurrently in a energetic environment with changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities, work independently and in a team setting.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens.
- Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
- Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
