Empowered Futures is dedicated to helping young adults build confidence, emotional intelligence, and long-term capability through mentorship, empowerment, and supportive community programming. We are seeking a Chief of Marketing & Communications to lead the organization’s marketing vision, strengthen brand cohesion, and oversee all communications and creative functions at the executive level.
Position Summary The Talent Acquisition Manager will lead Empowered Futures’ volunteer recruitment strategy, overseeing the end-to-end recruitment process to attract, engage, and select talented individuals who align with our mission and values. The role will partner with leadership and hiring managers to understand staffing needs, build strong candidate pipelines, guide the Talent Acquisition team, and continuously improve recruitment processes and candidate experience. This is an chance for an experienced recruitment professional to contribute to building a strong, mission-driven volunteer team while making a meaningful impact on the organization’s growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and support Talent Acquisition Leads, Specialists, and Coordinators to achieve departmental recruitment goals.
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment activities across all Empowered Futures departments, ensuring timely and quality hiring.
- Partner with hiring managers and department heads to understand workforce planning, hiring priorities, and recruitment strategies.
- Monitor recruitment progress, team performance, and hiring metrics while ensuring service levels are maintained.
- Review candidate screenings, interview assessments, and hiring recommendations to maintain consistency and fairness throughout the recruitment process.
- Ensure standardized recruitment processes, structured interviews, and evaluation scorecards are consistently followed.
- Support sourcing strategies for volunteer recruitment through multiple recruitment channels.
- Collaborate with the Director of HR & Administration and Talent Acquisition Leads to identify process improvements and implement recruitment best practices.
- Mentor and coach Talent Acquisition team members, supporting their professional development and continuous learning.
- Contribute recruitment updates during Town Halls, leadership meetings, HR meetings, and cross-functional discussions.
- Work collaboratively with People Operations to ensure a smooth transition from recruitment to onboarding.
Experience and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive Talent Acquisition or Recruitment experience, including 2 - 3 years in a leadership or people management role.
- Education in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruitment across multiple functions.
- Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring recruitment professionals.
- Strong understanding of structured interviewing, competency-based hiring, and recruitment best practices.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), recruitment platforms, and virtual interviewing tools.
- Excellent communication, organizational, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote, volunteer-led environment.

Commitment & Meetings This is a part-time, unpaid volunteer role with a recommended commitment of 8–10 hours per week . The role requires participation in the following mandatory meetings:
- Monday: 5:30 PM EST
- Wednesday: 8:00 PM EST
