About Highland Park Preschool
Highland Park Community Preschool is a not-for-profit, non-denominational, parent operated school. Our “learn through purposeful play” curriculum is aimed at developing physical, social, emotional and creative skills in a caring and loving atmosphere. The program recognizes that each child develops at his/her own pace and our program is not competitive or comparative.

Position Details
● Days/Hours: HPCA has 4 preschool classes: Monday/Wednesday/Friday morning,
Monday/Wednesday/Friday afternoon, Tuesday/Thursday morning and Tuesday/Thursday Afternoons. Flexibility for various classes exists depending on the successful candidate(s) preferences and the needs of the HPCA. Afternoon classes run from 12:30 - 3:00 pm. Morning classes from 9-11:30
● Planning meeting once per session or as required
● Child Development Assistant (Level I) or Child Development Worker (Level II)
Certificate required
● Current CPR/First Aid and Police Clearance required
● Prior teaching experience with preschool aged children is an asset
● Job will commence August 26th, 2026

Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities.
- Foster a positive learning environment through effective communication and engagement.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
- Maintain a protected classroom by adhering to CPR and First Aid protocols.
- Collaborate with staff to enhance educational experiences for all students.

- level 1 or 2 Early learning Certificate (required)
