At Drake’s Landscaping, we don’t hire “just operators” or “just labour.”

Right now, we have an immediate opening for an experienced Landscape Team Lead who knows how to build, lead a crew, solve problems in the field — and still get their hands dirty.

Start with a 4 month contract for this season, with the potential for full-time next season. A winter contract for snow removal will be offered to you for this upcoming winter.

We Need Someone Who Can Step In and Lead:

✅ 5+ years of landscape construction experience

✅ Proven experience leading a landscape construction crew

✅ Strong hardscape installation experience

✅ Grading, excavation, base prep and finishing

✅ Interlock, retaining walls and landscape construction

✅ Planting, sod, soil and detail work

✅ Read plans, take measurements and understand job specifications

✅ Organize labour, materials and equipment for daily production

✅ Provide time and material estimating for upcoming projects

✅ Communicate professionally with clients, crew and management

✅ Maintain a clean, organized and professional worksite

This Is a HANDS-ON Team Lead Role

We aren't looking for someone who stands back and tells everyone else what to do.

You’ll be expected to:

✔ Lead from the front and work alongside your crew

✔ Set the pace and expectations on site

✔ Plan ahead so your crew isn't standing around waiting

✔ Delegate work based on crew skills

✔ Catch quality issues before they become callbacks

✔ Communicate progress, problems and material needs

✔ Coach less-experienced crew members





✔ Take ownership of the project from start to finish

Fit Check: This is NOT an Operator-Only Career

We use equipment — but we are not an equipment-heavy company.

If your ideal day is sitting in a machine for 8–10 hours, this probably isn't the position for you.

Our Team Lead needs to be just as willing to jump out of the machine and build alongside the crew.

What You Need:

✔ Valid driver's licence

✔ 5+ years landscape construction experience

✔ Previous crew leadership experience

✔ Solid hardscape and landscape construction knowledge

✔ Ability to perform physically demanding landscape work

✔ Smartphone readiness for job tracking and documentation

✔ Strong work ethic, accountability and coachability

✔ Ability to work extended hours when projects and weather require it





❄ Snow experience is an asset — winter work may include loader and/or plow-truck operations. The successful candidate will have the option between a loader or plow truck position this coming winter.
