About the Role

The Company is seeking a Corporate AVP for Underwriting Risk and Governance. This senior leadership role is pivotal in maintaining the organization's underwriting philosophy, risk appetite, technical standards, and governance framework across all life and health insurance businesses.
The successful candidate will be a corporate risk subject matter expert, providing guidance on mortality, morbidity, product, underwriting, and fraud risks. Key responsibilities include leading the evaluation and approval of underwriting and product-related risk initiatives, assessing the implications of changes, and ensuring alignment with corporate risk management objectives.

The role also involves strategic leadership, influencing decision-making, and representing the organization on industry matters.

To excel in this position, a minimum of 15 years' progressive life and health underwriting experience is required, with a preference for those who have held an individual underwriting approval authority of at least $30 million. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assessing complex mortality and morbidity risks, experience in high-net-worth and large face amount business, and a proven track record of leading underwriting, governance, or risk initiatives.

Technical thought leadership, exceptional communication, and the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders are essential. The role demands a strategic thinker with strong risk assessment capabilities, who is comfortable operating in a energetic, consultative, and project-oriented setting.
