We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as our Barista Trainer. Help us build strong and connected teams that can deliver exceptional service whilst preparing excellent tasting coffee. Work with cutting-edge equipment and industry leading roasters, such as Monogram, Subtext, Rogue Wave and more.
As a Barista Trainer, you will be responsible for working with our Senior Baristas and Baristas helping them craft high-quality beverages, ensuring food safety standards, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. This role requires strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Barista Trainer Responsibilities:
Serve as the example of Small Victory’s goals for customer service, exemplary workflow, and teamwork.
Maintain an intimate understanding of Small Victory’s quality standards across all areas of the Bar.
Assist the Director of Coffee in training recent Baristas to meet Small Victory’s standards.
Assist the Director of Coffee in training Senior Baristas to uphold our standards.
Collaborate with Senior Baristas on quality control procedures.
Support team members across all stores in achieving product quality expectations.
Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues when needed.
Perform ad hoc duties as required.
Availability to work at multiple locations is required.
Qualifications
Experience working in Specialty Coffee is essential.
Must have held a role as a supervisor or manager within Specialty Coffee.
Robust customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
Strong demonstrable knowledge of coffee quality and understanding of extraction theory, brewing practices, workflow management.
Excellent time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks during peak hours.
Good people skills and ability to work with many people with different skill and knowledge levels.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented setting while also being self-motivated.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
