Pacificom is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to join and help further grow our team. The position will focus on building recent Telecommunications, Audio-Video, and Life Safety installations for corporate, government, and educational sectors.

Responsibilities

- Participate in the installation and servicing of new telecommunications systems such as IP-based Telephone Systems (Unified Communications), IP-Based Public Address Systems, IP-based Audio-Video systems, and other IoT network systems including pre-wiring, installation, termination, programming, and commissioning per project requirements and industry standards.
- Lead the installation of life safety systems such as such as Nurse Call / Emergency Call and Patient Wandering in all types of healthcare environments including pre-wiring, installation, termination, programming, and commissioning per project requirements and industry standards. Integrate Life Safety systems with other messaging and alerting platforms via MQTT and other IoT protocols.
- Work closely with our design team to create installation plans to achieve project objectives, including reading and interpreting system diagrams and construction drawings.
- Ensure all deployed systems are fully audited and commissioned with the latest in Cybersecurity policies and procedures.




- Perform service calls after a completed installation to modify/maintain any and all installed equipment, you may be required to be “on-call” before or after your regularly scheduled hours or days.

Area of Work: · Based in Metro Vancouver area, but up to 25% of work may be out of town throughout rest of B.C.

Desired Skills and Experience

Basic Requirements

- 3 years+ experience in construction fields of electrical or communications/security sector
- Read and understand construction drawings
- Post-Secondary Education in a trade school or program
- Able to work independently on a jobsite or as part of a team
- Excellent organizational skills
- Fluent in English
- Class 5 Driver License

Required Training/Certifications
- Asterisk dCAP / SCAP or equivalent
- Extron/Crestron or equivalent
- Advanced SIP protocol certification
- Cisco Certified Network Professional mid-level networking certification or equivalent, focusing on routing and Layer 3 switching
- Proxmox VE Training/Certification
- HiveMQ MQTT (IoT) Training/Certification or equivalent
