Job Overview
CVS is a small, values-based, social profit agency providing services to adults and children with developmental disabilities. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with a passion for payroll management to contribute to our team.The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in payroll processing, accounting procedures, and data management, ensuring accurate and timely financial operations. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency with various payroll and accounting software platforms, including ADP, Makeshift and Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain confidential employee files
- Reconcile time entry of Employees’ Timecards to Excel for accurate flow of - Time entry information in the Payroll System
- Timely Process of union Payroll bi-weekly
- Verify pay amounts, hours of work, deductions, etc.
- Preparation of reports following the Payroll process (Seniority, Unpaid hrs, Mileage)
- Preparation of Vacation, Banked time, Sick time reports
- Assist with running the MakeShift scheduling software and ensuring proper timecard links for payroll purposes
- Maintenance of Quarterly WorkSafe report (Data confirmation from Payroll system)
- Municipal Pension Plan reporting
- Tax year-end processes
- Annual Statutory Reporting filings (MPP, WCB, - working along with the Director of Finance and Business Management)
- Administering benefits for employees
Requirements
- Payroll certificate and/or accounting diploma preferred
- Payroll experience (ADP Payroll system experience preferred)
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Good knowledge of perks policies, reconciliation, and Statutory regulations/requirements is an asset
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate courteously and effectively in writing, in person and on the telephone.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in working with employee information.
- Ability to work effectively as a team with good interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of Human Resources and Payroll interdependence and good knowledge around it is an asset
- Scheduling software (i.e. Makeshift) experience is an asset
- Experience with unionized payroll is a great asset
