Job Type: Part-Time Hourly (guaranteed 20 hours per week as best suits the program)
Reports to: Youth Homes Supervisor/Manager
Responsibilities: To work closely with youth aged 11 to 15 years old in a transitional home, empowering the clientele to make positive choices that will help lead them toward self-sufficiency while ensuring contract obligations are met.
Qualifications:
- Must be a good role model and demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle.
- Practical experience in the Human Services field, particularly with youth.
- Must have Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers Licence - those without need not apply.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health challenges, and/or cognitive disabilities.
- Knowledge and understanding of indigenous culture.
- Maintain professional boundaries in and out of the workplace as outlined in the YWCA Code of Conduct and Ethics Agreement.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and time management abilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Must pass YWCA Security Clearance; Criminal record check, and vulnerable sector check.
- Ability to work independantly as well as part of a team.
- Must be a positive role model of life and social skills for clientele.
- Have a caring and compassionate attitude.
Remuneration: $23.54 per hour

Duties:
- Help identify career goals, and barriers to employment and assist youth with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing resumes, and preparing for job interviews;
- Maintain a protected home environment;
- Prepare and cook for 10 or more youths;
- Maintain an accurate daily log on day to day business;
- Plan fun & educational activities for teenage youth;
- Support and guide the residents, teaching them responsibility as they transition into adulthood/independence;
- Maintain building security;
- Ensure nightly cleaning duties are complete;
- Ensure major housecleaning duties are complete as well as normal everyday cleaning/chores;
- Attend staff meetings;
- Provide support and advocacy to the clients of the YWCA;
- Provide feedback to the Manager regarding clients;
- Provide feedback to the Manager on major issues and incident reports;
- Some administrative duties;
- Attend to crises as they arise during non-office hours. Contact the Manager in the event of a major crisis;
- Prioritize work, attending to the most urgent needs of the clientele first;
- Work unsupervised;
- Maintain confidentiality;
- Any other duties as requested;
Probation: All YWCA Prince Albert positions contain a three-month probationary period.
