Delta Parks, Recreation & Culture is looking for a reliable and well-organized individual to work in our Art Centres as a Theatre Attendant. This work involves public contact in a theatre setting, which involves a variety of routine tasks to assist patrons and to make sure they are comfortably situated.

The Theatre

Attendant will deliver front line customer service by providing theatre guidance, information and assistance to patrons. In addition, they will ensure visitor safety, sell confectionary items, basic bar service and provide coat check.

Key Responsibilities

- Observing patrons who are entering or seeking entrance to the theatre; selling and collecting tickets at events;
- Greeting patrons and directing them to the seat location indicated on their ticket stubs, dealing with seating issues as appropriate;
- Performing coat check duties;
- Preparing and selling food and beverage items such as coffee, tea, soft drinks and packaged snacks, basic bar service for beer and wine;
- Taking payment and ensuring proper handling of cash and credit card records;
- Ensuring the front of house is presentable and tidy at all times;
- Maintaining order and adherence to safety rules and code of conduct and responds appropriately to accidents and other emergency situations;




- Assisting with event set up and take down
- Performing other related work as required.

Qualifications

- Completion of Grade 12, preferably supplemented by some related experience in bartending and/or serving food; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is an asset.
- Serving it Right Certificate
- Food Safe Level 1
- Standard First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR "C" Certification and Automatic Defibrillator (AED) Certification.

This casual prospect requires an individual who is willing to work a variety of shifts including daytime, evenings and weekends. The City of Delta provides a competitive salary of $23.81 - $27.78 per hour + 12% in lieu of vacation, public holidays and benefits.
