Bayview is a growing local Winnipeg construction company providing heavy construction services such as; road building, sewer and water, aggregate sales, concrete crushing, and municipal services to our communities. Our mission is to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects that serve our communities with integrity and excellence. We are looking to expand our team and are currently accepting resumes for experienced Traffic Coordinators for both City of Winnipeg and Manitoba highway construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Setting up, maintaining, inspecting, adjusting, and removing temporary traffic control setups for City of Winnipeg streets and Manitoba highway projects.
- Reading and interpreting Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and completing setups accordingly.
- Installing and removing advance warning signs, lane closure devices, cones, barrels, barricades, delineators, and other temporary traffic control devices.
- Ensuring traffic control devices remain properly positioned and maintained throughout the work shift.
- Identifying changing site conditions and communicating required adjustments to supervisors and construction crews.
- Working around live traffic while maintaining awareness of motorists, pedestrians, construction equipment, and other workers.
- Assisting with lane closures, lane shifts, intersection work, detours, flagging operations, and other traffic-control configurations.
- Operating and working from a Traffic Control truck during the workday.
- Loading, unloading, carrying, installing, and retrieving traffic-control signs and equipment.
- Using handheld radios and other communication equipment to maintain effective communication with crews, supervisors, and other Traffic Coordinators.
- Maintaining a professional and courteous approach when dealing with the public, inspectors, clients, and other workers.





Qualifications & Requirements

- Have previous traffic control experience.
- Have experience with City and/or highway traffic-control setups; highway experience is preferred.
- Hold at minimum a full Class 5 driver's license with no restrictions.
- Be comfortable driving and operating a Traffic Control truck.
- Be able to read, understand, and follow Traffic Management Plans (TMPs).
- Be familiar with temporary traffic-control signs, devices, spacing, advance warning setups, tapers, lane closures, and work zones.
- Have strong situational awareness and be comfortable working around moving vehicles and construction equipment.
- Be physically capable of repetitively lifting and handling up to 50 lbs.
- Be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and changing conditions.
- Have open and flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and extended shifts when projects require.
- Be fluent in spoken and written English.
- Have strong communication skills. The ability to speak an additional language is considered an asset.
- Be able to use handheld radios and communication equipment effectively.
- Work well independently while also functioning as part of a construction crew.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Work locations may include: Winnipeg surrounding communities and Provincial Highways.

Compensation

Wage will be determined based on previous traffic-control experience, qualifications, and demonstrated knowledge of the position. Heath advantages and pension will be offered to those who qualify.
